Turbidity Removal from Kaolin Synthetic Wastewater via Coagulation Process Using Sludge from Water Treatment Plant

This studyaims to treat kaolin synthetic wastewaterby using sludge from water treatment plant as a coagulant via the coagulation process. Water (WTS) was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). WTS had an amorphous structure contained high aluminium metal constituents at 25.3%, which can be recovered coagulant. Acidification conducted recover in sulphuric acid produced (WTSC). The optimum condition of WTSC prepared evaluated through concentration dosage parameters. It has been observed that 0.5% acidified with 0.08 ml/ml normality constant 0.5N it remove turbidity 99.5%. performance process standard jar test studied based on effect pH highest percentage removal (98.66%) obtained 12, 117NTU, 40mg/L. for alum almost similar. Thus, potentially replace (WTP).
